You preach the word from your pulpit or stage,
But you neglect the message of repentance and change.
“Take up your cross” means you have a burden to carry.
You can carry it now or seal your fate for eternity.
That burden is your battle, the battle of the flesh.
Do you give in to desire or do you put it to death?
A true child of God cannot continue in sin.
When you are born of God, His seed lives within.
When you submit to Christ, you become a new creation.
That means the old you dies and you become a different person.
You cannot be righteous and you cannot be pure
Until you give your life to Christ, the one and only cure.
The message of the Gospel is not to accept who you are.
It’s to give yourself up and stop walking in the dark.
If you chase the things this world had to offer,
You fulfill your own desire and disregard the Father.
You could gain the whole world and still be lost.
You could gain the whole world, but it comes at a cost.
To gain the world is to forfeit your soul.
To gain Christ, how far are you willing to go?
Our Father gave us His only begotten Son
So we could look at you and say, “The battle is already won.”
The darkness has been defeated, it has no power here.
When you walk with the Spirit of light, you have nothing left to fear.
If you’re still walking in darkness, if the devil has you in his grip,
Then turn to God today because only He can flip the script.

Matthew 16:24-28
“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.””
1 John 3:4-10
“Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
1 John 2:1-6
“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”
