The more I want to see Him, the more I want to hear Him, I do. I see Him everywhere – movies, music, the clouds in the sky… This one in particular might surprise you, but I see Him all over in Disney movies. Encanto, Moana, Wish (that’s a big one), Frozen, Hercules…He’s in them all. The question is: are you looking for Him? Or are you distracted by the pretty picture put in front of you? What do you want to see?

Now, having eyes to see and ears to hear isn’t necessarily all sunshine and butterflies. While it’s so much easier to see the goodness of God, the evil in the world becomes equally clear. The evil in those I love…the evil in me…becomes undeniable. Makes sense, we’re all born sinners. So why is it the closer I get to Him, the more sorrow I feel?

Well I asked Him, and He gave me this:

Luke 14:26-27, 33

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

…

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”

…

Are you willing to lose everything to follow Him? Would you give up your family? Would you risk your own life? How far are you really willing to go?

To truly live for Him, you have to truly be willing to lose it all in this life…the way Jesus gave His for us.

So….

Are you living for Him? Or are you still stuck living for you?
